Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sephy and Tegan wanted to help bake!
Hey Guys!

Well, it's back to hibernation time in Ontario! It's minus thirty again here, and all I've been wanting to do is go for a long walk outside.  It's too cold to do that, so I headed to the gym yesterday! It was the first time I went to the gym in 2014, and man, my body certainly feels it today. But it was so great to be back, I ended up doing an hour and fifteen minutes of cardio, which felt amazing!

When I got home, I was craving chocolate chip cookies, which would have definitely ruined my productive gym visit! I decided to make healthier chocolate chip cookies!

Two Ingredient Pancakes!

Yesterday my mom and I went with a couple of our friends to Sky Zone again! I am seriously addicted to trampolining. It's such an amazing workout, and so much fun!  This time we spent a lot of time playing extreme dodgeball which is hilarious! I ended up being the last person standing twice, which was so scary considering we were playing against teens who really knew how to whip the ball at you! I accidentally hit a little boy in the face and felt so bad!

After grocery shopping and our workout, we were so hungry.  We had a few ripe bananas, so I decided to make two ingredient pancakes. I'm sure you've seen these all over Pinterest, they are delicious!

The Importance of Cleaning Your Fruit!

Hey Guys!

Today my mom and I went and did our weekly grocery shopping at an Asian market near our house.  It's great there because the prices are so cheap! I mean you definitely can not go wrong with five dollars for two pints of blackberries! The one downfall to this place though is that it can get very, very busy.  Especially on the weekends.

As we were shopping I noticed that most of the produce was being handled, and all I could think of were all the germs on the fruits and vegetables.  I am a bit of a germaphobe,  so the second I got home I knew I had to thoroughly wash my fruits and vegetables.

My method of washing produce is very simple.  I clean my sink and wipe it down with a disinfect wipe to make sure that it is clean.  I then fill it up about half way with warm water and add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar.  I then put all my produce in to the sink and let it soak for ten minutes.  If you do use this method, make sure you stir all the fruit occasionally.

Once the fruit has soaked for about ten minutes, I drain the sink and let the fruit dry out for about half an hour.  After that I mix it all up and store it in tupperwares for easy access throughout the week!

Washing your fruit is incredibly easy and very beneficial for you and your family.  Not only are the germs from other people touching them all over the fruit, but the pesticides that are sprayed on it are harmful to ingest.  If you are interested in learning more about the importance of washing your produce, you can check out this interesting article here!

Simple Pad Thai- Gluten Free!

Hey Guys!

I decided to make one of my favourite comfort foods for dinner tonight! It's not the healthiest meal but it's one of my family's favourites and it gets eaten up really quickly so there's less leftovers to snack on!

Tegan loves to sleep on the fridge when I'm cooking!

This Pad Thai recipe is super easy and you can make it in less than thirty minutes.

A Quick Snack!

I just wanted to post a quick snack that I am obsessed with right now!

This is a great meal to have for breakfast, or after an intense workout.  And it's so simple to make!

All you need is any fruit that you like, granola, honey, and if you have a sweet tooth, dark chocolate chips.

To make this bowl I cut up some strawberries, and added grapes, blueberries and blackberries.  I then added a handful of granola.  After that I drizzle some honey on to the top and then stirred it all together.  I topped it off with some dark chocolate chips as I was craving chocolate like crazy!

ENJOY!

Chicken Avocado Burgers Recipe!

Finally I am posting the recipe to make Chicken Avocado Burgers.  I recently discovered this recipe via the Laughing Spatula and I am addicted!

Murray
One of my cats, Murray, was very interested in what I was making! All three cats love eating avocado, it's kind of weird actually!

Weekend Update!

Hey All!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few days, I have had a very busy week!

Last time I blogged I was just heading to my first hot yoga class.  I was really apprehensive about going because I have never done yoga, and I'm not really good in the heat. The class we went to was a community class and it was packed!! I got a spot close to the door so I could sneak out if I couldn't handle it. I was so nervous! But it went really well.  The class we went to was at De La Sol Yoga and it was a Relax and Restore class, and the vibe in the class was very positive and welcoming.  It was the perfect way to wind down after a busy day.
