Weekend Update!

Hey All!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few days, I have had a very busy week!

Last time I blogged I was just heading to my first hot yoga class.  I was really apprehensive about going because I have never done yoga, and I'm not really good in the heat. The class we went to was a community class and it was packed!! I got a spot close to the door so I could sneak out if I couldn't handle it. I was so nervous! But it went really well.  The class we went to was at De La Sol Yoga and it was a Relax and Restore class, and the vibe in the class was very positive and welcoming.  It was the perfect way to wind down after a busy day.

Over the weekend my mom and my boyfriend and I decided to take a road trip to our other house up North.  We just went for Friday night, but I love being at home.  It's in a very quiet part about half an hour from Barrie and very close to the lake.  Alex and I took my dog for a walk down to the lake where we watched the sun set.  It got cold very fast! It was nice being there with Alex and getting to show him where I grew up.

Alex and I are a sucker for cheap deals and flea markets, so we made sure to make a stop at the the 400 Market.  If you are ever in the area, it is worth checking out! They have some awesome samples! We went on an empty stomach but left full.  We picked up a few dips and some Mennonite fudge.  I also couldn't help myself from buying a few records.  Alex has a huge record collection, and I decided to start mine today! I bought a Joni Mitchell record and a Stevie Nicks one, they're my two favourites!

Saturday night I went to my friend's dance recital.  She's the Associate Director of the Dance Team at our University, and an amazing dancer!! Seriously, watching her dance makes me cry sometimes!!! She was so good and it was nice to see her too because she is one of the nicest people I know!

Sunday was another trip to trampolining! I have not stopped talking about the adventure I had at trampolining, and I found out that A LOT of people are interested in trying it out.  I took a couple of friends from soccer, my mom and my best friend Alicia this time.  We went to a new place called SkyZone .

This place was SOOO cool!

It was really different than the other place Julia and I had gone, but I would definitely recommend checking out both.

SkyZone was more geared to having fun, and it was much busier.  They had over two dozen trampolines for people to jump on, and at SkyZone you could do back flips and front flips.  I was way too scared to try them, but Alicia was amazing at it! I was so jealous.  She tried to teach me but I'm a wimp haha.

I seriously cannot get over what a work out trampolining is! I burned over one thousand calories this time, and I was exhausted afterwards!

SkyZone was really cool too because it had more options than just jumping on a trampoline.  They had a foam pit where you could jump
into, which was really great if you were trying to practice a flip.  They also had trampolines where you could play basketball.

One of my favourite things there was trying out their extreme dodgeball! We played against the little kids, as they divide you by size.
Of course the little kids won every single round! It was still awesome.  I definitely want to go back there with a big group and all play dodgeball!

SkyZone was not very expensive for what you got and I would highly recommend going there if you ever are looking for something to do.  It's awesome because even being an adult it's still so much fun.  Alicia and I are already planning on going back next weekend!

Sweaty after an intense trampolining session!

After trampolining I met up with Alex and we headed over to his uncle's house for a great family lunch.  I love Alex's family- it's huge! My family is so small and our gatherings weren't as great as his are.  He has two younger cousins who I absolutely adore, I hang out with them all the time! The boys watched a game (I think football ahaha...) and I stayed with the girls in the dining room.  We had some hilarious conversations and really great food.

I kept telling my dad and Alex how much I enjoyed hot yoga, and they agreed to come to another community class with me tonight.  It was much more intense than the first class I went to and my body is still hurting! Alex really did not like it and ended up leaving early, but I'm so proud of him for trying it! It's definitely not for everybody, but it meant a lot that he went.  My dad liked the yoga aspect but did not enjoy the heat! I definitely will be going back, but I think I'm the only one! I really want to get into Yoga, so if anybody has any tips, please let me know!

Well, I am pooped now! I think it's time for me to go cuddle up with my kitty and watch some Seinfeld and head off to bed! I promise I'll be posting the Chicken Avocado Burger recipe asap, it was delicious!!!
